What Is a Mixed Vehicle?

When talking about vehicles, many times they do not know or have doubts about mixed vehicles. Are they normal vehicles, do they circulate at the same speeds, can they transport passengers, can you work with them, etc.

Well, if you keep reading, then we will explain what it is. It is nothing of the other world, nor anything strange. In fact, they are seen on the roads on a daily basis. In spite of this, the traffic regulations must be taken into account. For some time (which was not the case before) there have been changes and now, they will not be able to go at the same speed as cars. It is important not to skip it and comply with the regulations, otherwise, you will have to pay a fine and they will remove the corresponding points from your card. The number of passengers must also be strictly adhered to. You can never board and carry more than nine passengers, counting the driver himself.

Instructions

  1. If we have to explain or summarize in a few words what mixed vehicles are, we could summarize it as all those motor vehicles that can serve both to transport people (such as a simple car) and, in turn, also for a purely professional function.
  2. If we had to choose one after both functions, surely in a mixed vehicle, the professional option would win. Because if you want a vehicle just for leisure (or whatever you want, but not for professional use) then you would clearly choose a car. Not a mixed vehicle.
  3. When registering a car, certain requirements are always taken into account that are essential to be able to catalog them on one side or the other. Passenger cars are not the same as mixed vehiclesThe big differences are as follows:
  4. On the one hand, a car is thinking for the sole purpose of transporting people. Nothing more.
  5. On the other hand, mixed vehicles are intended for both functions. It can be used to transport, therefore, they are ideal for work. And, on the other hand, it can also be used to transport people.
  6. If, even so, there are doubts, these will be dispelled by knowing this. Something that makes a vehicle mixed compared to passenger cars is weight. The dimensions should be over one meter eighty in height (at least).
  7. Another thing that differentiates them is that they can carry and/or transport up to a total of nine people, including the driver. Something that is unthinkable in a tourism. For example, an example of a mixed vehicle would be a taxi vehicle. Those that are van-type minivans. On the one hand, it is used for work and, in turn, for transporting people.
  8. Regarding traffic regulations, they are the same as any other vehicle. But there are certain rules that you must follow on the roads, when it comes to speeds. Without going any further, in cars that are mixed, the speeds. Be careful, because it wasn’t like that before, but with the changes in the regulations, things have changed. Now, yes, there are differences and if they do not comply, they will lose points and there will be an economic fine.
  9. If it turns out that your vehicle has a maximum weight of three thousand five hundred kilos of maximum authorized mass, it may not exceed one hundred kilometers per hour (on motorways) and when it is on motorways, it may not exceed ninety kilometers per hour.
  10. On conventional roads they may not exceed eighty kilometers per hour. And they will have to lower the eighty to ten kilometers per hour (maximum 70 kilometers per hour) when the mixed vehicle transports dangerous goods or children.
  11. It is important to know that, to change from tourism to a mixed vehicle, you must be self-employed or invoice as a company. The vehicle will therefore be subject to at least half (fifty percent) of the economic activity carried out with it.
  12. In a mixed vehicle, you can both work and carry passengers. It can be a two for one. On the one hand, to work with him and on the other, for leisure. That is why it is a very useful and practical car for many workers.

What do you need

  • Have a driving license.
  • Respect safety regulations.
  • If you want to adapt a tourism to a mixed vehicle, you must take it to the ITV to change it.

Tips

If for whatever reason you cannot buy a new vehicle as a mixed vehicle, you can make certain changes so that the tourism becomes a mixed vehicle. It is not something you can do by yourself, you must take it to inform you and value your vehicle. In it they will inform you in more detail. But in general, it is usually around one hundred and two hundred euros.

It should not be forgotten that in a mixed vehicle they may not exceed the number of passengers and, counting the driver, in no case may they exceed nine passengers.
